About Drive a Boat Canada

Drive a Boat Canada was established as a result of the new federal law stating that as of September 15th 2009, all pleasure craft operators must have proof of their competency.

To be faithful to the initial program of Transport Canada, which is to educate pleasure craft operators in order to reduce the number of accidents on Canadian waters, Drive a Boat Canada is proud to have opened these new horizons on nautical safety to tens of thousands of people.

Because of the geographical span of our in-class courses and given the experience and professionalism of our instructors, Drive a Boat Canada is now considered one of the best boating schools in Canada.

Eric David, a Transport Canada-accredited boating license expert (PCOC), is vice president and director of operations at Drive a Boat Canada, an organization born out of a personal experience with a rescue at sea and now supported by recognized industry partners such as Princecraft and Mercury Marine. A graduate of Elmira College with degrees in business administration and economics, he combines regulatory expertise with accessible teaching methods.
